Shanti Mama Wellness has grown out of a love of tradition, of healing and of acceptance. There are many things that we cannot change but we can affect how we treat our spirit and our bodies. Through my work as a Massage Therapist, Traditional Thai Medicine Practitioner, Doula and Herbalist, I hope to impart a feeling of deep relaxation, balance and gratitude. Our bodies hold an innate wisdom and strength and it is through this work that I hope to facilitate a  path to your own well-being.  By integrating modern therapies with traditional modalities of healing we will work together to find a balance between your individual areas of tension and your being as a whole.  I offer a warm, light filled and inviting space for treatment at the Chase Mill in Burlington, Vermont.

In 2010 I completed my Massage Therapist Certification through Wellness Massage Center and Institute in St. Albans, Vermont. Since this time I have had the opportunity to deepen my education; Studying Asian Cupping Therapy, Reiki, Perinatal Massage and Thai Massage through the Wellness Center in 2010 and 2011. In 2011, I completed Level I of Cranio Sacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute. At the end of 2011 I was privledged enough to travel for 9 months throughout Bali, Southeast Asia, India and Nepal. In this global classroom I was surrounded by many forms of ancient healing and numerous gifted healers. In Chiang Mai, Thailand I deepened my Thai Massage training with an incredible course through NAMO Yoga and Massage Center. Thai Massage is now an integral part of my practice.

I hold training in the Ashtanga Yoga lineage and bow with deep gratitude to my teacher Kathy McNames of Yoga Vermont. Here, I am able to nourish my own body and learn how to take this nourishment and discipline of this ancient practice, out of the studio and into the world around me. As a complement to my Ashtanga Practice, I have completed teacher training with Collette Crawford of the Seattle Holisitc Center. My work with Collette focused on Pre and Postnatal Yoga. I am so grateful to have my work and my passions blend together so effortlessly.

In the spring of 2011, I trained as a Labor and Postpartum Doula. My Labor Doula training is through DONA and my Pospartum Doula training, through CAPPA. I also have additional training through CAPPA as a Lactation Educator. I could not be more blessed and feel deeply honored to be a part of such an incredible and important time in a womans' life. To see a family grow, to watch not only a child be born but a mother and family as well       ~ That is a gift that is somedays beyond all understanding....

I am also a Certified Community Herbalist, having completed a three year apprenticeship with the amazing Sage Mauer of The Gaia School of Healing. It is is the company of the plants, where I feel the most connected to source and my inner wisdom. My work in this realm has profoundly changed my life and the way in which I view total wellness. I offer herbal consultations and simple ways in which to incorporate this wisdom in your life.
